To benefit fully from all the Classical Archives have to offer, popups must be allowed from our site domain [classicalarchives.com] (we don't ever use popups for advertising, only for functionality), and Javascript and your browser cookies must be enabled. With your browser's cookies enabled, you will be able to reach the full daily limits for both listening and downloading files. Finally, the Classical Archives Multi-Format Queuing Player (Win/IE) also uses cookies to keep track of its playlist and other features. COOKIES - AN EXPLANATION

A "cookie" is a small text file which is written by your browser to your hard disk.

This file cannot do any damage to your system. It is not a program and it cannot read, write, or destroy any data on your hard disk. If the server you are visiting makes it so, some types of cookies can be used to track your visit on their system - figuring out your likes and dislikes to allow more targeted marketing. The Classical Archives DOES NOT use cookies for this purpose.

The only thing that a Classical Archives cookie remembers or tracks is that you are logged-in and if you are a subscriber of the Archives. It also maintains the playlist of our free web-based queuing-player. This information is not shared and cannot be seen by anyone else. The information that you submitted to subscribe (such as your name, address, credit card details, etc.) are NEVER placed in a cookie. In fact, your credit card details are only passed to VeriSign once for processing and safekeeping in their secure servers.

There are two types of cookies:
  1. Session cookies - these are not stored and live only as long as your session on the server is active.

You should at least enable this type of cookie to allow us to deliver our media files to you and to provide the full benefits of your subscription if you are a member of the Archives.

  2. Persistent cookies - these are stored in your cookies directory (\windows\cookies if you are using Windows).

This type of cookie resides on your drive even after your browser leaves the Archives. It is useful if you want the system to remember that you are a member of the Archives and to avoid having to re-login every time you visit the site.
