Kirill Umansky graduated from the composition class of Nikolai Sidelnikov at the Moscow Conservatory in 1986. He then continued at the Moscow Conservatory, graduating from the organ class of Sveltlana Bodul. Mr. Umansky's works are performed frequently at music festivals in Russia and abroad, particularly in the Netherlands, Austria, England, Norway, and the United States. In 2002, he earned 3rd Prize at the International Competition in Saarlouis, Germany, for his "The Island Valaam" - featured here at the Classical Archives. In addition, Mr. Umansky performs regularly as an organist, focusing especially on contemporary music, both as a soloist and in ensemble settings. He has performed in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Norway.
